Tech Help
Which file formats are offered for the messages?
You'll find a variety of file formats for the messages, including: .MOV (QuickTime Movie Files compatible with ProPresenter) and .WMV (Windows Media Video compatible with MediaShout, Easy Worship, and Microsoft PowerPoint). Additionally we will offer an NTSC (U.S. DV codec).
How long will it take to download a video file using a slow internet connection?
A looong time! Plan ahead — last minute will be too late. We have tried to compress the files sizes as small as possible while keeping them large enough to allow you the most flexibility. Using a free download manager can help those with lower bandwidths (http://files.freedownloadmanager.org/lite/fdminst-lite.exe) as well as using a wired (vs. wireless) connection to the internet.
Can I get an entire message series in one big file (or can you mail it to me because I can't get it to download)?
No, we can't condense an entire series into one large download. The files are too big and we want to make sure that everyone can download only those resources they want. We are unable to mail any resources to anyone for any reason because we are providing it as a download for free to everyone. Thank you for understanding.
How can I play back the videos at my church?
You can play the videos on a NTSC DVD player or using most presentation software. If you need to change the format of the file to to another format you can purchase QuickTime Pro for around $30 U.S. (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/) or within a video editor that supports QuickTime like Apple's Final Cut Pro.
Why do the Quicktime files look jagged and low resolution when played in QuickTime?
There is a "High Quality" setting in QuickTime that must be enabled. Apple has documented this on their support site (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/player/faq.html).
How do I use MediaShout to play an .iso file?
- 1. Download Daemon Tools Lite here: http://www.daemon-tools.cc/ENG/downloads.
- 2. Mount the .iso file using Daemon Tools.
- 3. In Mediashout, click Insert – DVD and it should bring up the mounted .iso file.
- 4. In the Mediashout clip settings, make sure chapter 1 is selected & click OK. (That will run the entire video without menu).
- 5. Right click the clip & select properties.
- 6. Make the foreground size custom & set it to 1024×576 (HDTV) & click OK.
Can you make the resources available in other formats (i.e. mpeg2, mpeg4, avi)?
We've made the content available in formats that would allow you the ability to convert it into other formats. If there is a particular format that would be more useful, let us know and we'll evaluate that option. Please note this is only referring to formats that can be downloaded. We cannot make the content available on different types of media (DVD, CD, printed resources, etc).
